Really a 5/5. Amazing sound. Even better with ANC off. ANC is worse than my boses, but with it on and music on I still hear nothing else. So I dont mind. And the sound quality makes up for it.

This is my first pair of ANC Bluetooth headphones that I got, so unfortunately I cannot compare it to other ANC Bluetooth headphones, tho I can compare it to my main Beyerdynamic Tygr 300r (which I use on my desktop with the dedicated amplifier). So, having them for around 1 week by now what can I say...Comfort: Quite comfortable i'd say. No complaints about the clamping force or the earcups themselves, but the padding on the headband could for sure be somewhat more ample. I feel like they put too little for some reason, but it's not like it really hurts. So overall 4/5.Build quality: Plastic, but quite solid plastic. German quality after all, so here again 4/5.ANC and mic: I heard that Momentum 4 ANS is great but not the best in class (hello to Sony). Anyways I never felt that ANC is doing a bad job. During my normal city commute on a bike I was never bothered by external noise and listening to music was absolutely fine. The mic is also quite good, I specifically tested it alongside my fan on full blast and it was doing quite a good job IMHO. So no complaints about the mic either. 4.5/5Features/App/Connectivity: Everything works quite well, aside from just a couple of things. First has to do with the "head sensor" which sometimes does not recognize that you put headphones on your head and then they don't work properly. It can be easily fixed by moving headphones slightly on your head or just putting them off and on again. Not a big deal. The other has to do with connectivity. It's hard to explain, just make sure that you actually turn off your headset every time you don't use it (instead of turning off your smartphone Bluetooth). Aside from this, the app's 5-band eq is quite useful for fine-tuning the headset. Gestures work well as well. So 4/5 here.Sound: The most important (for me) category. As I chose these headphones over Sony XM5 because of reviewers saying it sounds better than pretty much every competitor in this range. Knowing the brand of this headset, i can kinda believe it.The bass is awesome. I think subs are boosted (compared to "ideal curve") but just for the right amount to rock all the kicks in your head without making it muddy. I tried experimenting with EQ a lot, but eventually decided not to touch the bass at all. It sounds perfect out of the box. Deep and punchy. The mids and highs are also good, however since I'm quite sensitive for highs and 1-2kg mids, i tuned down some highs and mids so that i can listen for longer and higher overall volume. Sennheiser not really that infamous for its piercing highs as Buyerdymanic, so no problems here - highs are good without being overly irritating. Mids are also quite clear and present, so vocals sound a bit closer than my hearing could tolerate, but it depends on the person, so no complaints here as well. From a frequency response perspective, they sound great out of the box, and even greater with slight tuning. My only issue lies within (especially being used to my gaming amplified wired Tygrs) is the virtual soundstage performance. If you never really heard wide and immersive headphones then it might not be a big of an issue for you, but comparing to the wideness and separation of my Tigers, Momentum 4 is nowhere near. Of course, they're closed back, so it is something to be expected I guess. So what it means is that sometimes i feel like in busy tracks it all sounds somewhat cramped and there is not enough space for each instrument to breathe. This is not a big issue in more relaxed and minimalistic tracks.Summary: To sum up, i believe it's a great pair of ANC Bluetooth headphones. It has a solid build, a minimalistic and modern design (especially in white color), good comfort, as well as ANC and mic performance. The strongest sides should be the sound and the battery. The only thighs I wish could be improved are: additional padding on the headband, a more reliable head sensor as well a better virtual soundstage (openness, wideness) of the sound.Overall: 4.4/5

I received the unit and was quite happy having worked out of the box. However, on the second day. It didn't turn on even when it's at full charge. Even after a reset it didn't work.Plugging it to charge again showed full charge. And then it randomly started working. This happened twice in less than a week. DEAL BREAKER!Second problem is that I randomly hear (Mute ON/OFF) during online meetings on my Mac. Yet the mic and the sound work as it should. So it's unnecessary noise. The software is quite slow on Android and very bad experience.Firmware update takes ~25 minutes!!I believe these are mostly software issues that can be solved over time. But I've returned my unit for the time being.

Audio quality, multi-hour comfort, and battery life leave the Bose NC700 in the dust.Sennheiser, well done. The Momentum 4 is what's up.

When buying these, these were about 50 euro cheaper than the xm5.As well as this, they boast a much higher battery life (60 hours!) and better sound quality than the xm5.Other reviews have complained about the controls and firmware of the device, but for me this has worked great (maybe this has been fixed since the release). With that being said, there are 2 major drawbacks.Firstly, they are quite heavy and not super comfortable to wear.. After a few hours of them being on my head, I feel like taking them off.Secondly, the noise cancelling is significantly worse than Sony's, and yes.. it is quite noticeable, especially with wind.

I currently own the Sennheiser Momentum 3 (M3) headphones, but I need an additional pair to replace my old, reliable Momentum 2 (M2), which unfortunately has a battery issue. Even after replacing the battery, the M2 still doesn’t work wirelessly.Initially, I thought there wasn’t much difference between the M3 and the Momentum 4 (M4) in terms of sound quality, as both have the same 42mm driver. However, after switching the Bluetooth codec to aptX Adaptive, which supports high bitrate, I noticed a significant improvement in sound quality while listening to music on YouTube. Despite YouTube not being the best audio source, the sound became clearer with resonant bass. Although I’m not an expert, I really enjoy the sound, making the M4 a worthwhile upgrade from the M3.The M4 boasts a 60-hour battery life, a touchpad, increased comfort, significantly improved Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), and support for aptX Adaptive, which is comparable to Sony’s LDAC codec. On the other hand, my Sony WH-1000XM3 and XM4 support LDAC but don’t deliver the same high-quality sound. We appreciate Sony for its ANC and comfort, but not for its sound quality. In our opinion, the Bose QuietComfort 35 and the new QuietComfort models offer better sound quality than Sony, though they lack the bass presence of the M3 and M4. If we were to consider another pair of headphones, we would likely choose the Bose QC Ultra due to its support for aptX Adaptive.Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference. I prefer Sennheiser for its sound quality, while my wife prefers Bose for its comfort and superior ANC. It’s fortunate that we don’t prefer the same headphones!

Manchmal will man laut Musik hören.
