I was happy to order and try out the Seven OceanS emergency ration (3-day-ration box). Here is my honest review:📅 First to get rid of any doubts or misunderstanding: one cardboard package contains 9 blocks which is enough for one day (24h). So the 3-day-ration box contains three packages and a total of 27 blocks.📦 The shipping was done safely and well and the ration boxes were securely packed. This made sure the product does not get smashed during transport. Great! It even had a nice little welcome heart on the inner packing and a free GS-10 one-day ration package. "Small" gifts such as these will definitely bring a smile!🥡 These ration blocks are packed in, I believe it is, an anti grease paper and that part was sealed inside a small airtight bag and then shrink/hot-air wrapped foil. There is no doubt that they can have a pretty long shelf time as stated on the box; the information on the outter cardboard box is correct according to the EU Food law and it's maximum shelflife. But, quality could go down along the way. Looking at the ingredients, I believe one shouldn't worry about that too much. There was zero air in the package that I opened and the ration blocks were really tightly pressed. Great for our emergency package.👃 Smells? Barely, not really actually. If I *have to* mention a smell when opening one of the blocks, I'd say it was more or less a sweet smell. Like most childhood tiny "tea biscuits" perhaps, but very undertoned.😋 Taste? For the sake of the review I opened one cardboard package, I'd love to keep the rest as emergency. I didn't want to open, but I'm happy to help others in making a correct decision based on my honest opinion. I have tried 50% of one package to eat dry, the other 50% as a porridge. The taste was actually 'mild' sweet when directly eating the block. But on the other hand, a bit dry with the idea of a sandcookie/shortbread. Slightly oily.😄 Porridge wise, the consistency instantly changed, it because quite thick (but you are in control with your water, obviously!). It remained its mild sweet taste with a plain 'after taste'. Maybe a bit of a creamy feel, which makes sense because of the palm oil. Neutral. I could understand if one would think it's just very basic 'barely tasting' porridge. Maybe a tiny spoon of cinnamon would do the trick, but who does this in an emergency, right?🍽️ Was I full after eating one block? Not directly, to be honest. A more or less satisfied feeling came in after 10-15 minutes; that feeling that you feel slightly full and you "ate something". I'd say one block (out of the 9!) would give me the idea of eating 5-6 slices of bread. Usually I eat about 3 slices in the morning and be satisfied for a couple of hours. So it does work well, but suggested it to eat it slowly and don't wolf down your food. Take your time. In that case it'll give a way more satisfied feeling and way better than a piece of bread or a bowl of soup.⭐ Overall? Big 5 stars from me! Yes, thers is no 'special taste' such a coffee, cinnamon or fruits. It's very basic and that definitely fits an emergency ration. There is no doubt. Sure, as porridge you could add something extra if you like, but it's not requierd. The ration I received got created in April 2022 and has a shelf stability date up to October 2027. This shelf sability date is a "recommended time to replace for maximum effect", because quality may decline over time.

weil die Vakuumverpackung sehr solide ist. Man kann diese Notnahrung auch problemlos über die kalte Jahreszeit im Boot lassen, geschmacklich tut es sich wenig mit anderen Herstellern, die Energiedichte ist ebenfalls praktisch identisch.. Also alles so wie es sein sollte.

Ich kann nichts über den Geschmack schreiben, da ich das nur für den Notvorrat bestellt habe. Die lange Lagermöglichkeit veranlasste mich dazu. Ich bin gerne auf Notfälle vorbereitet und deshalb habe ich von dieser Art Notnahrung mehrere Sorten bestellt. Aber ich kann mich jetzt nicht dazu durchringen, eine Packung zu öffnen, damit warte ich bis es wirklich notwendig ist.

Tastes like Scottish shortbread, but with notably more sugar content. I can definitely eat it and, in fact, I intend eating it when I visit client's site with no cafeteria nearby. Pity they do not wrap each bar into a sealed wrapping, only paper, so, once opened, you should eat it. However, Scottish shortbread lasts 6-8 months, while this one is about 5 years (it was produced 31/3/2023, expiry date 24/9/2028, and today is 19/10/2023, the date I got it). Like how compact it is
