As a disclaimer, I got these headphones for mixing music, not for music enjoyment. However, as many other reviewers have noted, you can get a big sound out of these when you feed it high-quality content. I use them with a solid-state Burson amp with an Oppo HA-1 as my DAC.I also concur with a lot of user feedback, and magazine reviews, that these headphones are great at revealing flaws, which is what you want out of a mixing headphone. And I also agree that they are somewhat bottom-heavy so your mixes may sound a bit thinner in the real world than what you'll hear through these monitors. On the other hand, something like a DT-770 sounds too bright for my taste so it depends which way you lean but you really can't make a wrong choice here. So in terms of the sound, no complaints from me.I took 1 star off the rating because the headphone cups can lay pretty heavy on your ears so I found them to be physically fatiguing after about 1-2 hours of work. My earlobes feel hot and there is slight pressure pain that doesn't go away for about 30-45 minutes after taking the headphones off. At that point, I can't tell if my hearing is also fatigued so I don't want to comment on that aspect but there is definitely a great deal of physical discomfort around my ears during long work sessions. My ears are on the small side so maybe it's just a wrong fit for me but I'd imagine people with bigger ears having even more discomfort.I'm about a year in of using these and there is no visible sign of wear or tear so in terms of durability, so far so good. The little cables leading to each driver from the headband look a bit flimsy but they're not in any precarious position so I don't think that's going to be an issue.

Not sure why these are talked up so much, I noticed zero improvement from the cheaper Sennheisers I had before these. They're just average. And after just over a year of use, padding's already torn. That's a new record for me!

My 10+ year old Audio-Technicas fell on the floor and were damaged to the point that I couldn't use them anymore, so I went on a hunt for new monitor headphones. After doing many MANY hours of research I decided to give these Sony MDR-7506s a shot, and I don't regret it. They're superior to my old headphones in every way. I can see why these became the timeless classic. Cheap, and probably by far the best you'll get in this price range. I don't even really feel the need to shell out for a $500-600 set now.

I love these headphones and this has become my daily driver. I use it for casual listening, movies and monitoring.Comfort: Very comfortable headphones. This is lightweight headphones and doesn't have tight clamping force. Works fine with most head sizes. The padding is light though not uncomfortable. I can wear it for hours comfortably. I may upgrade for a thicker pads when this one wears out.Build: Very well built. The headphones feels sturdy in hand and can survive my clumsy handling. It folds well and I can carry it in my backpack easily. The coiled cables is made of quality material but undetachable and insanely long. The long cables can be wrapped over itself quickly to shorten it - check youtube videos. Spares of most parts are available online - so you don't need to throw it away when something breaks.Sound: This is fairly neutral sounding phones with somewhat flat sound signature . Really crisp mids and lows with tight bass. The bass is not overpowering or physical yet is punchy - maybe passable for bassheads. It has more bass than my AKG K371 but not as much as Brainwavz HM55. Its slight extension towards lows and highs adds some coloration but I kind of enjoy it. So instruments may stand-up than vocals a bit. You can EQ it for really flat response if you want - google for calibrated eq settings. The listening experience is on par with K371 except for the soundstage. Sound stage is not very wide but enough for proper instrument separation. My laptop and mobile can drive this pretty loud, I listen at around 50% volume.Overall this is a good no-nonsense cans well worth its ~7k price tag. This model has been around for 36 years for its good engineering and value for money.

Ein Profi-Kopfhörer, den viele Musik-Studios benutzen. Als ich auf die suche nach einem neuen Kopfhörer war, ist mir bei YouTube aufgefallen, dass oft dieser Kopfhörer in Musikstudios benutzt wird. Sehr angenehmes Tragen. Der Stereo-Sound ist für mich unglaublich gut. Die Kabellänge ist unglaublich lang, mehr als 3 Meter. Der Preis ist für diese Leistung sehr günstig. Würde ihn wieder kaufen.

I had read about these headphones and seen them on a few videos with performers using them in studio. Even with these expectations, the Sonys are impressive. To my ears, they are detailed and revealing. They do enhance my enjoyment of the music and reveal stuff in tracks already familiar to me. Excellent value for the money sonically. Build quality is OK but not impressive. You can't have everything on a budget. Highly recommended for the price!
