Stagg 25017782 M20 LH Top-Violine Burs Lindin Mandoline

Ich habe diese Mandoline gekauft, weil ich Linkshänder bin und die Mandoline erst einmal ausprobieren wollte, bevor ich mir ein teureres Instrument kaufe oder bauen lasse. Die Auswahl für Linkshänder ist leider sehr überschaubar.Die Mandoline ist im Großen und Ganzen gut verarbeitet. Die Saiten lassen sich gut drücken, der Hals sitzt fest, die Mechanik um die Saiten zu stimmen ist super. (Ich hab bei deutlich teureren Instrument schon viel schlechtere gesehen) Die mitgelieferte Tasche ist auch absolut tadellos. Schön dick gepolstert, die Nähte sauber und passt auch noch etwas Kleinkram wie Picks und Stimmgerät mit rein.Der einzige wirklich Kritikpunkt, der mein Spielerlebnis doch merklich trübt, ist die Metallaufhängung der Saiten ganz unten am Instrument. (Ich weiß das schlaue Wort dafür gerade nicht.) Da es Kante hat, über welche die Saiten laufen schnerrt und schnarrt bei einigen Tönen und Akkorden es ganz gehörig. Ich dachte erst: "Gut, die krummen Anfängerfinger. Was kann das Instrument dafür?" Also mit zu meinem Bouzoukilehrer genommen, der auch Mandolinen spielt (ist eh die gleiche Stimmung). Und siehe da, es scheppert auch auch bei ihm.Fazit: Für die ersten Berührungen mit dem Instrument ohne viel Geld auszugeben ist diese Mandoline in Ordnung. Sobald ich besser spielen kann, werde ich sie aber ersetzen und mir evtl. das Geld zusammen sparen und eine bauen lassen.

I always wanted to learn Mandolin but left handed versions normally cost much more than this one, so I thought I would order it as it's cheap enough to stick with until I decide if Mandolin is for me or not. I got it out of the box it comes in very basic packaging but thankfully it was undamaged. It is a nice looking instrument good glossy violin burst finish chrome machine heads on a black neck really very nice.You are going to need a few things my advice is order these as well, tuner if you don't already have one, a strap that ties at the neck like a ukulele strap or a strap button you attach to the bottom of the neck. Most important thing the strings it comes with are Rubbish it sounds awful but change the strings and it will transform it.This is a Mandolin it needs setting up properly before you will be able to judge it, don't just lift it try playing and put it back in the box give it a fair chance, new strings which will need tuning and retuning many times until they stretch, the bridge position, action and intonation will all need adjustment. There are loads of videos showing you how to do these things. Set it up properly and it is a good left handed instrument to learn on.

This stagg mandolin is good value for the money paid. It is playable, loud and resonant but not straight from the box.When mine arrived it looked as if it hadn't been touched by anyone since leaving the Chinese factory. It had one dud string, high action and bad intonation. I ordered some new d'addario strings so that will sort the dud string problem. The high action I sorted by lowering the bridge by turning the two metal rings clockwise, (if that's not enough some of the bridge can be removed by sanding/carving wood away, (be careful to get it right though). As for the intonation I had to move the bridge back about a quarter of an inch to get it right. Cosmetically it has a few flaws which would be unacceptable on a dearer instrument but these don't affect it musically so I'm happy.Delivery from Normans Music is first rate, arrived in two days, a lot earlier than the estimated date.

Decided to have a go at a stringed instrument never played before so noyhing to compare with. But for the money it seems ok and if I become any good I can always upgrade so its good that you can an instrument at this price to test the water.

I bought this in lockdown, it is my first experience of a Mandolin and it seems to play fine, I like it and glad I bought it 👍
