De curryboom (Bot Name - Murraya koenigii), ook wel bekend als zoete neem of kadi patta, is een tropische tot subtropische boom in de familie Rutaceae, die inheems is in India. Curryboombladeren worden gebruikt in veel keukengerechten op het Indiase subcontinent. De bladeren van Murraya koenigii worden ook gebruikt als kruid in de Ayurvedische en Siddha.Curry is een kleine boom, met een stam en aromatische bladeren zijn geveerd. When I opened and smelled it, I knew right away this smells more like neem which also has leaves called curry leaves. I think that’s why it’s green powders and has that pungent smell. I don’t think this is curry or even green curry. I was definitely confused since I was thinking this was yellow curry powder. Also, it was manufactured in 2022 and only have a few months left before the best use by date.

This curry leaf powder comes in a resealable packet which is practical to use and store.The first thing to note is the ingredients - I was expecting a list of all the ingredients as this is named a 'curry powder' so I assumed it would be a variety of different spices to make a curry. But actually, all that is listed is the curry leaf so I realised that this isn't a curry powder as we know it, but just ONE ingredient - a very aromatic curry leaf. When making a curry, I used my usual ingredients but then added in a spoon of this too. The curry had more depth and flavour, it definitely added an extra flavour which was lovely. I will probably use double the amount next time.So this is great to use as an ingredient when making homemade curries.

Ok, so the labeling is way off and quite misleading. This appears to be ground curry leaves - NOT curry powder. Curry leaves are a great addition to certain recipes, though I've never seen it ground before. Usually I see curry leaves as whole leaves. Grinding seems to make the flavour stronger, so if you're going to substitute curry leaves with this, I'd advise using less.Curry leaves do have a slight curry-like aroma, so I can see where the confusion is, if you're expecting curry powder in the traditional sense.

This is not any kind of curry powder I've ever seen. It doesn't smell or taste anything like curry powder. It's not the right color, but a dingy dusty green. I have no clue what this product is for, but the product description is misleading.
