Having recently purchased the SV202 ED 8x42 binoculars and being quite impressed with them I thought I’d try out this newer binocular with field flattening technology and some other improvements…My field test comparison between the two 8x42’s revealed certain qualities in the SA205 which brought about my decision to keep them.The field flattening lenses hasn’t eliminated edge distortion completely… but certainly they are an improvement on the SV202 plus the close focus of 1.4 metres compared to 2.3 metres in the SV202 is a huge improvement. The ease of view and eye placement alignment also suited me better than the SV202.Low light viewing ( 10 minutes before complete darkness ) was superior in the SA205, they produced a slightly sharper and brighter image.Build quality is not quite as astoundingly good thoughcompared to the SV202, the eye cups don’t twist up and down as firmly or lock into place as resolutely as found on the SV202 and the very stiff click stop diopter system works ok but I preferred the more traditional, smoother diopter on the 202. The SA205 focus wheel moves smoothly but i think i slightly prefer the texture and silky smoothness of the 202 just a tiny bit more but the 205 is still very smooth and responsive.The SA205 is a short, compact little binocular and I found the handling and comfort of the 202 slightly more user friendly but the improved close focus, edge sharpness plus a slightly sharper overall view has convinced me to keep the 205 as to find something significantly better would probably mean spending more on something like the kowa bd ii or the Nikon monarch M7 and i doubt there is a huge difference optically between the three but not having looked through the kowa or Nikon i don’t know…. Just as an afterthought my current favourite 8x42 binocular is the praktica ambassador ed which is available on here for about £40 more than the SA205 and I’d have to say it is optically better than the svbony…which eventually i did return…my advice would be to purchase both and decide for yourself which one you prefer… good luck.Yours opticallyP. Me llegaron en unos 6 días y tienen una visión muy buena, casi hasta el borde.Positivo:- Lentes FMC (multi tratadas).- Prismas Back 4 (claridad).- Lentes ED, de baja dispersión (muy luminosas y con pocas aberraciones cromáticas).- Lentes planas (imágenes nítidas casi hasta el borde).- Rellenos de nitrógeno (para evitar humedades).- Rueda de enfoque muy suave de utilizar.- Enfocan desde metro y medio.- No he apreciado problemas de descolimación.- Aunque hay algún comentario sobre los oculares de que se ven más débiles que en el modelo SV202, yo los he notado de buena calidad, una vez ajustados se quedan firmes y no se mueven.- Muy bien para ver pequeños insectos.- Servicio postventa bueno.Negativo:- La bisagra que separa los dos oculares estaba muy dura en el prismático que me llegó.- Los controles de calidad podrían ser un poco mejores. Aún así, tuve un problema y la casa me lo resolvió inmediatamente.- Los prismáticos traen correa de sujeción pero la funda no la trae, aunque puede utilizarse la misma, es un incordio.Recomiendo estos prismáticos ya que por calidad y precio están muy bien, al nivel de otros prismáticos de 1000 €.

Ho acquistato questo binocolo durante il Black Friday, con l'idea che, grazie ad Amazon, se si fosse rivelato una delusione, avrei potuto restituirlo senza problemi. Con mia sorpresa, si è rivelato una scelta davvero interessante. Non sono un esperto di binocoli, ma ne ho provati molti, e ho avuto l'occasione di testare (anche se solo in negozio) modelli Zeiss dal prezzo ben oltre i 1000 euro.Tornando a questo binocolo, pur con qualche difetto meccanico, otticamente l'ho trovato davvero buono, grazie ai vetri ED. Si comporta egregiamente sia nell'osservazione stellare sia in quella paesaggistica. A mio parere, non è facile trovare sul mercato binocoli di qualità simile a un prezzo che non sia almeno il doppio di questo.Il difetto principale, dal punto di vista meccanico, è nella regolazione diottrica: definirla "dura" è quasi un complimento. Tuttavia, per l'uso che ne faccio io, si tratta di uno strumento più che valido.

Ein hervorragendes Fernglas mit hochwertiger Verarbeitungsqualität und sehr guter Optik. Ich habe kaum Farbsäume oder Randunschärfen feststellen können.
