Fake Tiffen Filter Sold by Amazon.

Great filter, very good quslity

Filter arrived with marks on it that I cleaned up with a dust blower, lens wipe and microfibre cloth however it’s pretty disappointing for a supposedly new filter. Also, the plastic box it comes in doesn’t secure the filter laterally and it was rattling around inside which isn’t ideal.Despite the details of the listing itself - this filter appears to be made in the USA out of metal and glass rather than out of plastic from China as advertised. Whilst this is usually a positive thing, I must say - some of the cheaper filters that I’ve bought on Amazon that are manufactured in China, certainly have better packaging and have at least arrived cleaned. In terms of build quality they all seem comparable.Despite the state the filter arrived in, I have decided to keep it as I’m sure it will be fit for purpose and the price (~$35) was reasonable. If I’d paid more for this item, I would have sent it back. If there was a Neewer or K&F alternative for less money, I would have bought that and I am positive it would have at least arrived clean and secure in it’s packaging.

I love Tiffen because they're WAY less expensive than brands like B+W or Lee, but I've never actually seen any optical issues when using their filters.If I'm shooting black & white, I generally carry one of these Red 25s, a Yellow 8, and sometimes an Orange 16 and/or some light NDs (1, 2, and 3 stops). All of those filters that I have are Tiffen.Just a few weeks ago I used this filter when photographing a waterfall. It got me a nice long shutter speed (it cuts 3 stops), and really made the granite rocks in the photo pop.
