Het gevoel van snelheid, het gebrul van de motoren, wiel-tot-wiel gevechten en glimmende wagens voor de ogen van een enthousiast publiek. Het is er allemaal in UGEARS fascinerende U-9 Grand Prix Auto.
Model U-9 herschept het prachtige en imposante uiterlijk van Grand Prix-winnaars van aandrijfas tot reservewiel. Onder de motorkap vindt u een V8-motor uitgerust met een krachtige ventilator en 16 volledig functionerende kleppen. Het model heeft een as en een transmissie die schakelt tussen 'vrij', 'achteruit' en 'vooruit'. De U-9 heeft een geveerde vork en rubberen wielen die zorgen voor een soepele en snelle acceleratie met een lang rijbereik.
Dit prachtige voertuig stamt af van de race auto’s die in de allereerste Grand Prix reden in Italië in de 20’ste eeuw. Het model heeft prachtige en glanzende lijnen kenmerkend voor de oude Formule 1 wagens uit die tijd. UGEARS ingenieurs en ontwerpers hebben dit model een prachtig “old school” uiterlijk gegeven met een aandrijfriem aan de buitenkant van de auto en andere klassieke ontwerp elementen.

This kit has a great direction booklet with high quality diagrams. I would not recommend it for kids below 14 as the directions are detail oriented with lots of small parts. It took me 13 hours to complete and it looks great as a display item. You will be lucky if it will actually run and show its parts moving as there are many wooden gears powered by rubber band with many places that could stop movement. Once assembled it is next to impossible to find any problem areas. Even with not moving, the car is a great teaching tool to understand automotive operation. Also, extra tools may be helpful. A micro tooth model saw helps cut the tooth-pics, extra 150 sandpaper, needle nose pliers, exacto knife, and even a small vice helps in the wheel assembly. I found some instant model glue helpful in several areas. The design by the engineers and execution of creating this kit is amazing.The kit has 5 sheets of plywood laser cut parts that were easy to remove. The only materials used are plywood, tooth-pics, and rubber bands.

This is my first UGEARS model and very pleased with the design and end product. It does require patience and a certain amount of dexterity with your hands/fingers especially when it comes to the “power” i.e. rubber bands. These i found very difficult to fit into the groves cut into the discs and in the end only managed to get two of the three (each side) fitted, breaking the grooves in the process (fortunately there are spares!). Needless to say my end model did not drive but then in my ignorance the gears were not lubrigated (waxed) enough and therefore to tight.Steering works and model does move forward and backward. The instructions are all pictorial and some require understanding so patience is definitelya virtue with this product.I have now purchased the UGEARS Truck as my next model build project and aim to ensure this one moves under its own steam.. Highly recommend this company and products.
