I love my biltong slicer and use it almost every day. The knife is unbelievably sharp and stays sharp! Just be careful you don't cut yourself, handle with care when cleaning, keep the knife down. The slicer is very well made and comes with instructions and recipes!

I make my own biltong & have always thought about getting a slicer. Browsed a few of the cheaper versions but kept coming back to this one.As soon as I unboxed it, I could tell this was a premium product. Even the outer box tells you, you have made a quality purchase.This implement has been very well designed and beautifully crafted. The curved 'trough ' of the cutting board lends itself to round objects such as biltong, salami or vegetables...etc and discourages them from moving away from the blade when pressure is applied to cut it.The blade is secured to an elegantly machined fulcrum by means of 3 stainless hex bolts with spring washers. The blade itself is curved, made from high quality ground, high carbon steel, with a high quality satin finish. The machining and overall finish on the metal work is of a very high standard with care and attention.The blade is EXTREMELY sharp and closes on an opposing plate that forms part of the base, in a self sharpening scissor action.The metal tray is stainless steel and attaches to the base via magnets - very slick. The slicer unit will fit into the tray snugly, for easier storage.Oh, and of course this amazing implement slices paper thin, if you want it to, with ease and comfort. It's an absolute joy to use. Trouble is now, that most of my current batch of biltong is now sliced up and mostly devoured by my kids...!If you're looking for a biltong slicer, spend the extra on this unit, you won't regret it.
