I was having real problems trying to mix my own colours and finally decided that I needed actual skintone paints. I really like Vallejo paints for model figure painting and airbrushing, so I chose these. Most of my paints are from Vallejo as they have a good consistency and give good coverage. This set is no different.I mainly use a wet pallet in my painting and these paints worked well with that. They didn't separate much on the pallet and were still good to go after about 20 minutes of being left untouched.I found the Game Ink Skin Wash (72.093) in the set to give a really strong reddish colour when used straight from the bottle over the lighter skintones. I eventually worked out that it needs to be really watered down before use and applied in thin glaze-like layers.The Game Color paints are nice to use but I would recommend trying them out on an old model first to see what the dried colour looks like. When used with the thinned skin wash and then some light dry-brushing, the skintones look really good.Overall, a good set of colours that I'm sure I will be using for a while to come.
