Great quality deck-box for all my toploaders. wish they made a top loader binder. Magnets a little too strong but hopefully will be easier to open top with time.

I had my doubts about getting this, but all but one of my fears have been eliminated. I thought the magnets would not hold up to actual use and the top would likely pop off if dropped. It is actually pretty hard to get off and impossible to just accidently open it. During actual and simulated drops between roughly one to four feet on a variety of different surfaces from wood flooring to tile and super thin carpeting they have held up. So far there has only been some minor scuffing to the boxes, no spills, and no damage to my cards. The outer skin is very much water resistant (as in, it will keep liquids off of your cards only so much, not completely), and this is where one of my fears still exists, water damage. It will very likely not be an issue, but the box does not hermetically seal, so there is a chance, however small that liquid could get in between the chinks in its armor, I.E. the seams. Especially the space between the cover and the box itself. The slight space that exists on both ends, especially if the lid is not on exactly square, is miniscule and likely too small for liquid to easily penetrate it due to surface tension, but it is possible. So don't go letting it bob for apples or take a summer trip to Cancun with its collage buddies. Submerging it would be pushing it. (see what I did there? ;) Luckily, the outside skin is is made of a polymer with a textured crosshatch surface that makes it easy to hold onto, so it slipping from your hand is a slim possibility. They have a very satisfying weight that tells of the quality, thought and effort put into the end product. They hold a lot of cards, 1000 free singles according to the seller though I thought the comparable (in size only) longer white single row boxes were only 800 count, and they are 3.75" shorter than the Vault X Exo-Tec Card Box 450+. I am probably wrong about that though and I am certainly not going to actually count 800-1000 cards just to satisfy my curiosity. This thing is worth it either way and I liked it so much I got three more, plus a few of the smaller boxes that just happen to fit perfectly inside the larger one. This thing is mostly for venturing out into the wild. I personally think they would be wasted on simple storage, but the way they are built still makes them the Uber-Box for storage if you have the means and desire to use them as such. The heavy protective archival-safe, acid-free, non-PVC materials used for the casing and silky smooth interior make them a viable candidate for such a thing.

So, I got my hands on the Vault X Exo-Tec Card Box in Green, and here's what I found.First off, that magnetic lid is a beast. It locks the cover in place, and you can open it from either side or just pop the lid off completely. Super convenient and a secure and strong magnet. The material it's made of feels rugged, like it can take a beating, which is good for card protection.I don't have a ton of cards in there yet, so I pushed the cards I have in there to one side and squeezed the divider in horizontally. the divider is bending a tad as it's to wide to fit horizontally , then I gave the box a decent shake enough that if the cards weren't secure they would move and they all stayed in place. So if you don't have a ton of cards you can still fell safe putting them in here. Moreover, it's designed to hold the smaller vault X boxes, but it works fine for just single cards too. It's also not limited to a specific card type, and most of the cards I have in there fit vertically with room left over. I have one card that's in a larger hard case and it also fits albeit with less room between it and the cover but still with no issues and the cover closes just fine. Also I don't know if many people care about putting cards horizontally but just like the dividers which don't fit without bending, your cards won't fit horizontally unless your arranging them from box end to box end and not side to side.As for color I went with the green color, which I quite like. By the way, there are other listing with different color options, so you can pick one that matches your style.Overall the goal is for you to purchase all there smaller boxes and put your cards in those and then place those boxes in here but if you don't want to do that and just go with this box and place your single cards in here I don't think you should have any issues with it and I would recommend this box for securely storing your cards.
