I needed an Ethernet Jack and PoE power and this HAT addressed that need so I could use a Pi Zero 2W as a Pi-Hole DNS. Pi-Hole is a low resource intense solution that fits perfectly as a solution to run on the Zero 2.

Mount and power up. Works great. No issues and super simple.

This PoE Ethernet/USB Hub Hat from Waveshare is a compact pair of boards that provide a USB hub, a 10/100M ethernet controller, and a PoE power supply. It comes almost fully assembled except for the standoffs on top, and without documentation of any kind - par for the course with these gadgets, it seems. It's supposed to be plug and play by just adding your Pi Zero and booting it up.The listing says "Compatible with Zero series boards" so I assumed my Pi Zero v1.2 would work fine. Unfortunately, it seems the 5V test pad on the v1.2 is offset about 2mm from where they are newer boards so the 5V pogo pin wouldn't connect. I had to re-solder the 5V pogo pin at an angle to get it to connect to the 5V test point and power up my Pi. PITA to say the least.This hat sells for $30 (current price on Amazon) which is a lot compared to the $5 my Pi cost me new. But if you happen to need ethernet, PoE and extra USB ports in a compact package it's hard to beat. My base rating was 4 stars but I deducted one for having to modify it to work.
