I kinda obsessed about this speaker choice. Read countless speaker reviews and watched hours of YouTube videos. Finally settled on these Evo’s. I was second guessing my decision even while they were being shipped to me. That changed the second I unpacked them and plugged them in.Now I’m sure you can find a better “rated” speaker at this price. One with marginally better data nonsense. That’s a rabbit hole that never ends.These Evo’s sound magnificent. They’re built extremely well. And the kicker, they look gorgeous. I mean real wood veneer at this price??? So much nicer then that fake vinyl stuff that only look nice in pictures.So if youre buying speakers for your garage, then go buy something else. But if you want something that sounds great and will elevate your room’s aesthetic, then this is a no brainer at this price.Paired with a WiiM amp in a medium 300sqft room with stone floors.

As soon as I plugged these speakers in, I had the first impression that I had made a mistake. The sound was lacking, especially in the upper mid-range and treble.What a difference a few days make.There is a view amongst some that speakers need to run in, as new speakers have rigidity as all the parts are new, and need a chance to move and become more flexible. With these speakers this seems to be the case - even after a few days - wow - it is all coming together - developing midrange and soft but improving treble coupled with bass that is very deep and punchy for the speaker size, with shockingly good 3D imaging. With more time this can only get better. Addicted now.And they look great too - the better the recording the better the sound too - they fully show off the 'size' of recordings.Used in a 4*4m room, bi-amped with old Arcam 8+8p (swapped out decoupling capacitors) , old Marantz CD67 (replaced master clock and main op-amps), speakers on proper stands. Replaced old Ruark Sabre speakers (re-capped and tweeters changed) bought for the same price 27 or so years ago.
