Used before - does what it says on the bottle!

This is the first time I have used this varnish, and having used other Winsor & Newton products on the painting shown here, (Artist’s painting medium for oiling out & Liquin fine detail for the details!), this varnish choice seemed the logical next step.It was very easy to use, dried quickly and really brought out the tonal qualities of the painting and rich hues. You do need to make sure that the painting is completely dry underneath before use to avoid cracking further down the line. A little goes a long way and it leaves a nice even sheen.I will definitely be using this varnish again and will try others in the range.

Good retouching varnish but it dries a bit flat on the paint so this should never be a final coat, use proper oil paint varnish for a final coat.
