As a complete beginner I've used this alongside other 'how to play piano' books and online resources. Most songs are quite easy to follow and help in recognising chords and notation. Definitely keeps me motivated to continue learning to play, and well worth the investment.

Playing piano from this book was my husband’s first attempt to use the chord method. For each favorite song, he wrote the proper notes for each chord above the chord symbol. He already knew the melody notes, keys and other basics from lessons he had taken as a child (classical method). This helped him play the songs and simultaneously learn the chords. The book contains a wide variety of songs, and we found enough that we enjoy. His approach worked well. And a 78 year old man does need something to do.above the chord symbols
