I was excited to get this device after seeing it on Paul (HOME ASSISTANT!) Hibbert's YT channel. However, after testing it over the weekend in my home office, it has been no better than my existing Aqara motion sensors. It is currently mounted about 6 feet from my desk, about 5 feet high, and facing the side of the desk. It does *NOT* detect small body motions like typing, and certainly not my breathing. It only detects full body motion towards and away from the device. Maybe this is a faulty unit?The set-up process was fairly simple, including the MQTT integration with Home Assistant. I would have preferred not requiring yet another phone app and account; set-up via a temporary local WiFi AP would have been better, with subsequent configuration (zones, settings, MQTT, etc.) via a web interface on the device.Finally, the supplied USB cable is way too short, and should be 6 feet at a minimum.

Initially I was pleased with the eMotion Pro but is has some major flaws.Setting up was simple enough, getting it to work with Home Assistant was also simple triggering automations as expected. The device has 3 sensitivity settings but they didn't seem to make a huge difference - it might be that the area I have it is too small so low works in the same way as high.That's where the good stuff ends though.The mounting system is utterly useless. The sticky mount stickes to a surface fine, but the device isn't securely held in place. I've even tried using double sided mounting tape but there's no real suface area on the back of the device and it still fails. You'll need to 3d print an alternative mount for your device to stop it falling off the holder. Search for "LinknLink eMotion table and wall mount" on Printables.The second issue is far more critical though. Every day this device stops connecting, doesn't renew its ip address and starts flashing its blue light meaning it needs to be setup again. It also means it stops detecting. This isn't a networking issue - every other device including my other ESP32 based ones work fine, renew their dhcp leases without issue. The AP is in the same room as this sensor.Frustratingly close to being a good product but these failings mean I'd have to recommend looking for something else.Current firmware version is v61057

I really wanted to like this product. Either the people who I watched review this on YouTube were sent a better version or they were full of fluff.The product feels cheaply made. If you're looking to buy this as an universal IR remote, then I suppose it's okay for that. As a presence detector it's not so great. Even when updated to the latest firmware, the features are still saying they're in beta. Which is odd because when looking at the reviews people did almost a year ago, the beta text did not appear in their demos.The convenient MQTT connection to Home Assistant is the only good thing I can suggest about this product. The software still needs a lot of work.

App/install requires GPS location. Although mqtt can be setup to report sensor status, it doesn't report if online.

After the update it's working perfectly I'll change my review if it's changes
