....though I haven't yet had the chance to build my raspberry, the component appears well made and everything appears to be in its place. I will update later if I run into problems.

This is a decent mini base board for RPi CM5 that seems well-made (expected from Waveshare) and for the most part works as expected without issues. It comes with 4x standoffs with screws and that's all there is.This particular board is the mini version which means it includes some features and components that the nano board doesn't (i.e. HDMI and GigE etc) but it also lacks certain features that I believe it should have such as PoE and perhaps M.2. PoE is almost a requirement for me since it eliminates the requirement for a 2nd cable and that's just such a no brainer in my book. Similarly, some would argue that the vast majority of people would always use M.2 at some point which I tend to agree although I think it really depends upon the individual's use case (less than 50% of mine actually use M.2. btw). The installation is no different than any other base board and I have no issues booting it from a M.2 via a PoE/M.2 hat and the overall performance is on par with most others that I've come across and reviewed. It comes with 16-pin PCIe along with 2x HDMI ports and 2x USB 2.0 ports, which is decent. No extensive tests are performed but no issues are counted during the tests for streaming 4K media. While I do appreciate the concept of a mini base board, I'd really prefer to have PoE and M.2 instead. As such, unless space/form factor is a concern for you, I'd suggest you get the PoE version instead since that's just that much easier and convenient to work with in the long run.≡ ValueAll things considered, this is a decent mini base board for Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 that's well-made and for the most part works just fine without issues. The overall performance is fairly decent (albeit typical) in comparison to most others/alternatives out there; however, I'd prefer PoE and perhaps M.2 given the circumstance unless size/form factor is a critical concern for your project. Of course, that's more of a personal preference than anything else. It's somewhat reasonably priced at $43 for what it provides and its overall build quality, usability, and performance. Your mileage might vary.

I installed my CM5 into this board with no issues. It's small and works well. I wish I would have gotten the version with PoE so could run it in a single cable configuration. I appreciate that this board has a normal full sized HDMI port instead of the Raspberry Pi 5's micro HDMI.The board does only have two USB-A ports, which could be limiting for some people. The best part about this board is the future. Software mostly gets more complicated and harder to run. Using this carrier board leaves you with the flexibility to someday drop in an upgrade board and boot your performance.
